These exportations were considered by the legislatores as undoubted proofs of prosperity: and when it was urged upon them that the workers, the great majority of the bees, could not be benefited by exportation, they turned a deaf ear to the complaint, and still exultingly pointed to the stream of honey issuing rapidly from the hiveb.
